National Conference 2008

On 27-28 November at the Hinckley Island Hotel, this inaugural event as the newly named National Association of School Business Management was titled "Planning for the Future".

Key Note Speakers included:

  • Toby Salt - Stategic Director, National College of School Leadership - "21st Century School Business Management for 21st Century Schools" 
  • Stephen Kingdom - Deputy Director, School Funding & Technology, DCSF - "School Funding after 2011"
  • George Phipson - General Secretary of Foundation and Aided Schools National Association - "Planning for the Future: A View of the Current Context"
  • Adrian Webster - Motivational Speaker and author of "Polar Bear Pirates"


There was a Question and Answer Panel comprising of key note speakers answering pertinent questions from the floor.

Workshops included:

  • TDA " Update on QCA Reform Agenda and how training and qualifications for school support staff will be affected"
  • NCSL "The Redesigned NPQH Programme"
  • Unison "Support Staff Pay Structure - An Update"
  • University of West of England "Getting the Best out of Educational Premises: Ensuring buildings work for you - not against you.
